Agreement
These terms apply when you book or receive cleaning services from Halo Housekeeping LLC ("Halo," "we," "us"). By booking, you agree to them. If you are booking on behalf of a household or business, you confirm you are authorized to do so.
What we provide
We provide residential cleaning in Chicago, Illinois, including standard cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in and move-out cleaning, and recurring monthly service. The tasks included in each service are the ones listed on our website for that service at the time you book. Anything not listed is an add-on and is priced separately.
Prices
Because homes differ substantially in size, layout and condition, we price each home individually rather than from a published rate card. Your price is confirmed in writing before your first visit and is the amount you pay. We will not add charges after a clean without your approval.
We may need to revise a price if the condition of the home is materially different from what you described when booking. In that case we will contact you before proceeding, and you may decline without charge.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
- We will confirm your appointment and let you know who is coming before they arrive.
- You do not need to be home. If you provide a key or entry code, we will keep it secure and use it only to deliver your service.
- You may reschedule or cancel at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less notice, or a visit where we cannot get access, may be charged at up to half the visit price to cover the reserved time.
- There is no contract, no minimum term and no cancellation fee for ending recurring service.
- We may reschedule for severe weather, illness or safety reasons, and will give you as much notice as we can.
The 24-Hour Re-Clean Guarantee
If any area covered by your service was missed or not cleaned to the standard described, tell us within 24 hours of the visit and we will return and re-clean that area at no charge. This guarantee covers re-cleaning; it is not a refund guarantee, and it applies to areas within the scope of the service you booked.
What is not included
For safety and insurance reasons, our cleaners do not:
- Move furniture or objects heavier than roughly 35 pounds
- Use ladders beyond a two-step stool, or clean exterior windows above ground level
- Handle biohazards, mold remediation, pest infestation, human or animal waste, or hoarding conditions
- Clean inside occupied pet enclosures or handle animals
- Work in a home without running water, electricity or safe heating
We may decline or stop a job where conditions are unsafe. If we do, we will tell you why.
Your responsibilities
- Secure or put away valuables, cash, jewelry and irreplaceable items before we arrive.
- Tell us about fragile surfaces, unsealed floors, antiques or anything requiring special handling, and we will record it in your home profile.
- Secure pets that may be anxious around visitors.
- Provide safe access to the home.
Damage and liability
We carry general liability insurance and our cleaners are bonded and employed by us on a W-2 basis. If we damage something, tell us within 48 hours of the visit and we will work with you to repair, replace or reimburse it.
We are not responsible for damage arising from pre-existing wear, faulty or improperly installed fixtures, surfaces that were not disclosed as requiring special care, or items that were already damaged. To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, our total liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Payment
Payment is due after the service is completed, by card, ACH, Apple Pay or Zelle. We do not require payment up front. Invoices unpaid after 14 days may be subject to a reasonable late fee.
Hiring our staff
We invest in recruiting, background-checking and training our cleaners. For 12 months after your last service, please do not directly employ or contract a Halo cleaner outside of Halo. If you would like to, contact us and we will discuss a placement arrangement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version posted on this page at the time you book is the one that applies to that booking.
